"I am a Southern Vermont based decorative designer and painter who has brought all my background and training to the art of architectural surface design.
I earned an MFA in theatre design while studying architectural history and interior design at the University of Massachussetts in Amherst. |

 |
As a decorative painter, I seek to enliven
architecture through color, painted textures, patterns and forms. I am
fascinated with the effects of light upon color. I work in a combination of
freehand painting and stencilled forms. I feel the results to be
aesthetically lively yet sufficiently mannered to not overpower space.
|
I develop color schemes and design and
paint murals, ceilings and floors.
I envision my own designs or interpret historical patterns, depending on the requirements of the project.
I am very knowlegeable in color glazing and a variety of paint finishes.
I work in the New England region, collaborating with architects, interior decorators and home and business owners to
business owners to arrive at
concepts for surface design. I generally work from a combination of consultations, architectural
elevations, on-site photographs and color swatches in order to develop designs.
I most often present architectural renderings and samples of proposed designs together with with cost estimates and projected time
frames for the clients approval prior to embarking upon a project. I generally favor doing as much work as
possible in my own studio in preparation for a project in order to expedite its completion on site.
I am accustomed to working with deadlines and construction and renovation deadlines." |
