Kosher Kitchen
Details from the Kosher Kitchen mural in a long galley-like kitchen. The mural runs along a frieze-like band, 1'-3" high, above the kitchen cabinets. The Jewish owners kept a kosher kitchen and wished for painted decoration in the space. We developed the concept of images of the cycle of the Jewish holidays encircling the upper perimeter of the room. I employed a combination of a subtly sponged background with stenciled motifs and text.
